Theseus fighting the Minotaur

Definitely one of the favorite subjects in the entire history of western art, “Theseus Fighting a Minotaur” has inspired artists for millennia. Ivan Minekov’s interpretation of this iconic scene gives a centaur-like quality to the labyrinth monster, while Theseus is jumping across Minotaur, evoking the ancient Cretan bull-leaping performance. The two opposing sides are distinguished by the lustrous body of the hero and the dull skin of the monster figure.
